What is Trimix and other Frequently Asked Questions.
What is Trimix?
Trimix is a compounded combination of three drugs that is traditionally used for erectile dysfunction. The three drugs are alprostadil (prostaglandin), phentolamine and papaverine. The combination is usually injected prior to intercourse and is intended to cause vasodilation (expansion of the blood vessels) to help with erectile dysfunction.
Where can I purchase Trimix?
Trimix can not be purchased at all pharmacies. Only specialized pharmacies the provide sterile compounding services are able to properly make the injection. A list of these pharmacies is available on our site. Click here to be taken to the list of TriMixInjection.com approved pharmacies.
How much does TriMix usually cost?
The cost of the therapy depends on many factors including the strength, quantity, and dose required. As of 2011 the average cost of TriMix for a 5ml vial was about $99. This 5ml vial could provide an average of 30-35 doses to the average patient. This makes TriMix one of the least expensive options available for patients with Erectile Dysfunction.
Does TriMix require a prescription?
Yes, Trimix does require a prescription from your physician. Please feel free to direct your physician to our site for additional information or have him/her contact one of our participating pharmacies to speak directly with a compounding pharmacist.
